色素学専門医をはじめ、国際カンファレンスにてスピーカーや審査員などを務める。
2023年にはPMUエレベーターメンターシッププログラム2023を開講し、PMUトレーナーの育成に力を入れている。
アートメイクでのキャリアを始めたきっかけとは？
Lavinia：美容の分野で18年以上の経験があります。過去にアートメイクで不満を抱えるクライアントが多かったことから、何か変革を起こしたいと考え、数々のケースを研究し、様々なアプローチを試してきました。
その後7年間、アートメイク分野の研究に専念しました。
あらゆる肌タイプについて詳細な研究を行い、イギリスとルーマニアの皮膚科医と共に学び、時間の経過に伴う皮膚内部の色素がどのように変化するかを正確に理解するための研究を行いました。
さらに、皮膚と色素に特化した教育プログラムを開発しました。140人以上のトレーナーを含む2000人以上の生徒が参加する、世界的に認定されたプログラムをヨーロッパだけでなく、アジア、アメリカ、オーストラリアでも展開することができました。
アートメイクを通して、一番印象に残ったエピソードは何ですか？
Lavinia：それはもうたくさんあります…。
まず、研究におけるそれぞれの成果は記憶に残っています。
研究すればするほどすべてがより深く、より明確になるのです。
私のPIGMENTOLOGY Programが世界的に認められたことも忘れられません。
このプログラムを教えた各国のイベントは、私にとって忘れられないものばかりです。
またカンファレンスのステージ立ったときに、私の専門知識に興味を持つ人々を見渡したことも忘れられない瞬間でした。
でもやっぱり、アートメイクの修正後にクライアントが幸せで自信を取り戻す姿を見ることが、本当に忘れられない瞬間です。
得意分野や、普段の施術で力を入れていることは？
Lavinia：アートメイクのあらゆる分野に取り組んでいますが、特に修正・まぶた・リップに力を入れています。
アートメイクにおいて、一番大切だと思うことは何ですか？
Lavinia：もちろん、仕上がりが重要です。そのためにはあらゆる要素が重要であり、これらが仕上がりに大きく影響を与えることを理解する必要があります。
たとえば、美しい眉の形を描き、適した色を選び、高い技術を身につけていても、クライアントに合わなければ、仕上がりは期待通りになりません。
また、完璧な色や素晴らしい技術を使ったとしても、形がクライアントの肌に合わない場合も、やはり仕上がりは期待通りになりません。
素晴らしいテクニックを使い、ガイドを描くのが上手くても、クライアントの肌に対して間違った色を選んだ場合も、仕上がりは悪くなります。
したがって、ある要素よりも重要な要素は存在せず、仕上がりに影響を与えるすべての要素を理解しましょう。また、皮膚と色素の相互作用を理解することも重要です。
さらに、異なる技法、角度、針などを使用して色素が皮膚にどのように定着するかを理解することも重要です。
これが私の Pigmentology Program の内容です。これらすべてが時間経過に伴う仕上がりに影響を与えるので、これらを学ぶことは必須です。
Laviniaさんにとって、アートメイクとは？
Lavinia：私にとって、PMUは人々の人生を変えることを意味します。
まず私のクライアントの人生を変えることです。彼らが毎日眉毛を描く必要がなくなり、リップを塗る必要がなくなり、アイライナーを描く必要がなくなることで、数分を節約できます。彼らはその数分を、祈ることやコーヒーを飲むこと、朝に子供たちとキスをすることなどにあてられます。
また、これまでのよくない仕上がりに苦しんでいたクライアントたちが私の修正施術を通して自信を取り戻して外出できるようになります。
次に生徒の人生を変えることです。トレーニングに多くの時間とお金を費やしても良い結果を得られなかった学生たち、または別の分野で働いていた学生たちが私の指導によってビジネスで成功できるようになることです。
そして私の人生と私の子どもたちの人生を変えること。彼らが必要とし望むものを提供できるようになり、良い教育や素晴らしい休暇などを提供できるのです。
今後の展望をぜひ教えてください！
Lavinia：2023年7月にELEVATOR MENTORSHIP PROGRAMが始まります。
これは、トレーナーに焦点を当てた8週間のプログラムで、指導を始めるか、既に指導しているがスキルを向上させたい方々を対象にしています。
このプログラムでは、メンターになるために必要なあらゆる側面に触れます。
脳の半球、学習のタイプ、生徒の行動、教授法、教育哲学、教育プログラムの構成、ロジスティクスなど、多岐にわたる内容を解説します。
さらに、16回のグループ面談と2回の個人面談が含まれ、メンターブックと宿題も提供されます。
実質的には、新しい教育プログラムを市場に投入する準備が整います。

若手アーティストと日本人アーティストへのメッセージ
Lavinia：初心者は早く成功し多く稼ぎたいと思いますが、成功し稼ぐために、以下のステージは欠かせないものです。どの業界でも成功し多くを稼ぐための方法は簡単で、3つあります。
1. 品質の高い製品やサービスの提供
PMUアーティストの場合、彼らの「作品」とは、手や技術で作り出す仕上がりを意味します。
ですので、何よりもまず、アーティストとしての成長に投資し、知識とスキルを向上させましょう。
2. 施術を行う場所の品質
ここで品質が重要になるのは、施術が行われる場所の清潔さを指します。
PMUアーティストの場合、デバイスや仕事道具に投資するだけでなく、働く場所も素敵で清潔、消毒されており、常にクライアント歓迎できるする環境にしましょう。
3. 製品のマーケティング
上記2つが揃ったら、今度はそれらを必要とする人々に提供することが大事です。
PMUアーティストとして、素晴らしいスキルと素晴らしい作業環境を備えたら、自分のサービスを宣伝する必要があります。
そのためには、素晴らしい写真や動画を撮影し、オンラインで多くのプラットフォームに投稿するしましょう。今日では多くのプラットフォームが検索エンジンとして機能しています。
したがって、3番目のステップはマーケティングに投資し、良いスマートフォン、良い照明、SMM（ソーシャルメディアマネージャー）などを活用することです。
Next in PMU：特に昨今、PMUアーティストは製品やサービスのマーケティングの重要性を理解していると思います。しかし、そのステップまでに品質や清潔感など大事にしたいことがたくさんあります。これらがあるからこそ、マーケティングができるのだと思います。

Today we present Lavinia Pop, a pigmentology specialist from Romania. Her encounter with a client who had a painful experience with PMU in the past led her to PMU research. In the last part of the interview, she will share with you what she thinks is important for young artists.

Lavinia Pop
She is a specialist in pigmentology as well as a speaker and judge at international conferences.
In 2023, she opened the PMU Elevator Mentorship Program 2023, focusing on the training of PMU trainers.
Why did you decide to pursue this career?
Lavinia：Having more than 18 years of experience in the Beauty field and because many clients had a bad permanent makeup experience and results, I have decided to change something, so I’ve start studying many cases and trying different approaches in the techniques.
I have dedicated the last 7 years to research the field of semi-permanent makeup.
In this sense, I did in-depth studies on all skin phototypes, studied with dermatologists from England and Romania, in order to understand exactly the evolution of the pigment in the skin over the time.
I also managed to develop an educational program dedicated to the study of skin and pigments, a Globally Accredited Program and program that was followed by over 2000 students, including 140 trainers, being presented in Europe, but also intercontinentally in Asia, America, Australia.
What is a moment in your Permanent Makeup journey that was most memorable to you?
Lavinia：Oh, there are so many …
First, each achievement in my research was memorable, as the more I’ve researched the more in depth and the more clear everything becomes.
Seeing my PIGMENTOLOGY Program globally accredited was again a huge moment.
Each event in every country I’ve teached this program has brought me memorable moments .
All the moments that I’ve been on stages at conferences and seeing people interested in my expertise, was memorable.
But also, seeing my clients happy and confident again, after a correction process, those are really memorable moments.
Areas of Expertise
Lavinia：I’m working on all areas of permanent makeup , but the most focused I’m on corrections, eyelids and lips.
What do you think is the most important aspect in Permanent Makeup? Why?
Lavinia：We should focus on the healed result and because of that we need to see all the aspects very important as all are contributing at a great healed result .
I’m gonna explain to you.
Doesn’t matter if you draw beautiful eyebrows shapes for example, you chose a good color, but if your technique is too saturated…. the healed result will not be as you and your client expects it to be.
Or, it doesn’t matter if you do a great technique , using a perfect color, if the shape is not recommended to your client’s skin. In this case again, the healed result will not be what you and your client expects to be.
A good technique, a guide draw but with a wrong chosen color for your client skin, will have a bad healed result as well.
So, there is not one aspect more important than the others, there is a need to understand all of the factors that influence the healed result, ți understand the skin and how the skin interacts with the pigment. Is also important to understand how the pigment is settled in the skin using different techniques, angles, needles etc.
This is what my Pigmentology Program is about. Is a must to learn all of this as all influence the healed result and the evolution in time of this result.
What Does Permanent Makeup Mean to You?
Lavinia：PMU for me means changing lives.
Changing my clients lives by saving them a few minutes daily by not needing to draw their eyebrows, put the lipstik ok, drawing their eyeliner, minutes that they can spend praying, drinking their coffee or kissing their kids in the morning …
Changing my clients lives, clients that were suffering from a wrong healed result. Clients that can go out confident again, thanks to a correction process.
Changing students’ lives, students that spent so much only on training but not being able to get good results yet . Or, students that worked in different fields and now running their successful businesses, thanks to my mentoring.
Changing my life and my kids’ lives, being able to offer them anything they need and want, good education, great holidays, etc.
Future Prospects of your career as a PMU artist and the PMU industry
Lavinia：I’m very excited to say that in July 2023 I’ll start the ELEVATOR MENTORSHIP PROGRAM.
This is an 8 weeks program dedicated to trainers.
For people who want to start teaching or people who teach but who want to improve their training.
This program is treating all the aspects needed to become a MENTOR.
It explains everything about brain hemispheres, learning types, students behavior, didactical methodology, pedagogical philosophy, structuring an education program, logistics, and many , many others.

Message to Beginner Artists & Japanese PMU Artists
Lavinia：I love this question.
Beginners want to reach success quickly and earn a lot. But to be successful and earn a lot, you cannot skip certain stages.
The way to be successful and earn a lot in any industry is simple and includes 3 requirements:
1. To have a qualitative product or service
In case of PMU artists their “product” is the healed result that they can create with their hands, with their skills.
So, before anything else they need to invest in their development as artists, to improve their knowledge and their skills.
2. The quality of packaging
This is where quality comes into play, the cleanliness of the place where the product is packed.
In the case of the PMU artist, they need to invest in their device and tools, but also in the place where they work, to be nice and clean, disinfected, and welcoming.
3. Marketing the product
Having a qualitative product, with a qualitative packaging , now you just need to bring it front of the right people.
As a PMU artist having great skills, great working conditions ( as device, tools and place ), you need to promote your services.
To do that you need amazing pictures, videos of your services and post them consistently on online, on as many platforms you can, as many of them are searching engines those days
So, the third step is to invest in marketing, invest in a good phone, good light, maybe a SMM (Social Media Manager)
Next in PMU：Nowadays, PMU artists understand the importance of marketing their products and services. However, there are many things we want to take care of before that step, such as quality and cleanliness. Without these, we don’t think marketing would be possible.
