Today we have part two of Christina Dao’s interview. She is a member of Tina Davies Pro Team and is known for her expertise in Microblading. Read below for what Christina values in business and lifestyle, her advice for new PMU artists in the industry, and a message for Japanese artists!

The importance of choosing who you want to be surrounded by
自分の周りにいてほしい人を選ぶ大切さ
Next in PMU（以下、NP）：What are three things you cannot live without?
普段の生活で大事にしていることがあれば教えてください。
Christina： Three things I cannot live without are the gym, I must take care of myself physically, and my health.
Second, I cannot live without my clothes. I like to dress fancy because it makes me feel good, when I look good I feel good myself and it gives me a boost of confidence that I am ready to take on the world.
Thirdly, I cannot live without my close friends, family, and supporters. Having support is so important, in the beginning of my journey no one supported my career including friends and family. But I keep fighting regardless of how lonely it is, and soon after I made new supportive, and genuine friends.
Having support is so important whenever I feel sad. I know there is someone there who will hear my problems. As I became older I realized the importance of the selection of the people you want around you, we average the five closest people in our lives.
My selection of friends has been something I’m satisfied about.
I learn so much about life and business and I’m truly grateful to be able to support them and to have them support me as well. In my area it isn’t easy to find friends who are genuinely happy to see you succeed so I treasure my relationships with them because they are considered rare to me.
生活に欠かせないものは、ジムです。自分自身で身体と健康のケアをすることが私にとってマストです。
2つ目は、洋服です。外見が良くなると気分も良くなり、世界に挑戦する準備ができているという自信も高まるので派手なファッションが好きです。
3つ目は、親友、家族、サポーターです。サポートを受けることも重要です。この挑戦を始めた時は友人や家族も含め、私のキャリアを支えてくれる人はいませんでした。しかし、どんなに寂しくても戦い続けます。でもすぐに協力的な真の新しい友人ができました。
悲しい時にいつでもサポートしてもらうことはとても大切です。私は悩みを聞いてくれる誰かがいることを知っています。年齢を重ねるにつれて、自分の周りにいてほしい人を選ぶ大切さに気付きました。
私たちの生活において身近な人は平均的に５人で十分なのです。私は友人の選択にはとても満足しています。人生やビジネスについて多くのことを学び、支え合える関係でいられることにとても感謝しています。私の地域では、成功を心から喜び合える友人を見つけることは簡単ではありません。そのため、私にとって今の友人の存在は珍しく、彼らとの関係を大切にしています。
Becoming an advocate for women's empowerment and entrepreneurship
女性の地位向上と起業の提唱者でありたい
NP：What are your future prospects for your career as a PMU artist?
PMUアーティストとしての今後の展望を教えてください。
Christina：My goal is to continue to educate those who are passionate about PMU. And I am also an advocate of women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship, to help people feel inspired and help those who are in the same industry when it comes to mindset and eyebrow skills. I hope to become a good role model to others and be a living example that you can make your biggest dreams come true by doing what you love and not being tired in your restless morning-to-night job. I hope to continue to inspire women to continuously improve their self-development and to take care of themselves mentally as well. I like to spread positive messages and send encouraging advice to learn how to improve yourself and become the highest level of yourself because a true mindset will lead to success.
私の今後の目標は、アートメイクに情熱を注ぐ人たちを教育し続けることです。そして、マインドセットやアイブロウのスキルに関して、人々がインスピレーションを感じ、同じ業界にいる人たちの助けになるように女性の地位向上と起業の提唱者でありたいです。朝から夜まで好きなことを仕事にして、疲れることなく働くことで大きな夢を実現する生きたロールモデルになりたいと思っています。また、個人の成長を求め続け、自身でメンタルケアする女性たちにインスピレーションを与え続けたいとも思っています。私は、自分自身を高めるため、高いレベルに自分を持っていくためのポジティブなメッセージを発信することや勇気付けるアドバイスをすることが好きです。真のマインドセットが成功に導きます。
"Consistency will outweigh motivation"
一貫性はモチベーションを凌駕する
NP：Can you give a message to young artists to further develop their role within the PMU industry?
今後のアートメイク業界のさらなる発展のためにも、ぜひ若いアーティストさんへメッセージを一言いただけますか？
Christina： My one piece of advice is to be consistent.
It’s hard at first to start a business, it is not easy. Don’t be motivated, motivation is a temporary feeling that is not something you should rely on. Only once in a while a human feels motivated, no one ever wakes up every day and feels so much motivation to work on eyebrows or to succeed in their tasks. If anything, consistency will outweigh motivation. It is because if you wake up and especially on the days you don’t feel like practicing eyebrows or completing your tasks, at least consistency will tell you “Hey, even if I don’t feel like doing this today I will do everything in my power to complete this task by the end of today”. Consistency is showing up on days when you don’t feel like doing it. Not everyone has consistency, many people are easily given up or want instant gratification. But truly with consistency that is how people become successful. People who are easily attracted to motivation when in the long term it will not be sustainable.
Finally, my advice is to have fun, have fun creating posts on instagram, doing eyebrows, and to be yourself to others and to find how you can stand out from others. Be creative!
1つ目のアドバイスは、一貫性をもつことです。ビジネスを始めた当初は辛く、簡単なことではありませんでした。やる気にならないでください。一時的なモチベーションに頼るべきものではありません。一度やる気を感じても、毎日起きて眉の仕事や自分の仕事をこなすモチベーションを保つことは難しいです。一貫性はやる気を上回ります。起床した時、特に眉の練習や仕事を終わらすやる気がない日には、少なくとも一貫性があれば、「今日はこれをやりたくなくても、できる限りのことをして、今日の終わりまでにタスクを終わらそう」と思えます。一貫性はやる気のない日に現れます。すべての人が一貫性を備えているわけではありません。多くの人が簡単に諦めたり、即効性を求めます。しかし、本来の一貫性は人々を成功に導く方法なのです。その時のやる気に頼ってしまう人は、長期的な持続が不可能です。
最後のアドバイスは、楽しむことです。Instagramの投稿制作を楽しみ、眉のアートメイクを楽しみ、そして自分らしく、他の人より目立つ方法を見つけることを楽しむ。クリエイティブに！
NP： Consistency is indefinitely one of the most essential skills in any work field. It is evident through your experience that consistency is necessary to move forward and succeed in building your business.
一貫性を持つことは、どの仕事に就いていても非常に大切だと思います。Christinaさんがビジネスを成功できたのも、一貫性を持って前に進んだからだと思いました。
Grow to support one another, rather than compete against each other

NP：As a final note, please leave a message for PMU artists in Japan!
最後に、日本人アーティストへもメッセージをお願いします。
Christina： My message to Japanese PMU artists is to continue to support each other and the Japanese PMU community. We are all from the same industry there’s no need for comparison or competition because we are all the same. If we choose to compete rather than empower it will be harder for yourselves. It is hard being a solo entrepreneur so to be able to support others really does help enlighten yourselves and you will definitely find so many ways to help each other skills since there are errors that may occur. So in general helping each other improve and empower is a win win for both sides! Continue to keep working and to not tire yourselves out, do remember to take breaks and to not burnout. Find time to relax and focus yourselves everyday even if it means reading self development books, writing in your journal, or meditating.
