Phuong Nguyen
PMU業界で15年以上の経験を積み、何千人もの生徒を指導し、世界中で成功したアーティストを多く輩出している。また、日本、ベトナム、フィリピン、アメリカ、タイなど、さまざまな国で講演を行うなど世界中で活躍中。Faux Brows、Ice Lips、Misty Linerといった技術の生みの親でもある。
アートメイクでのキャリアを始めたきっかけとは？
Phuong：私は芸術と美とともに育ちました。アートメイクに携わる前は、クライアントの自然な美しさを引き立てるためにメイクすることを楽しんでいました。一日中自然な見た目を保ちながら時間を節約できるというアートメイクの便利さと美しさに気づき、アートメイクを始めました。
アートメイクを通して、一番印象に残ったエピソードは何ですか？
Phuong：2018年にアメリカで開催されたPMUコンテストに参加したときのことです。15分も経たないうちに、審査員として参加していたマスターアーティストの一人から、私が合格したとの連絡を受けました。施術が終わる前にその結果を知り、私は正しいキャリアパスを選んだことを確信しました。尊敬する人から自分の努力が認められ、喜びでいっぱいになりました。
得意分野や、普段の施術で力を入れていることは？
Phuong：完璧なPMUの仕事を達成するには、クライアントの自然な美しさを引き立てる仕上がりを作り出すことが重要だと考えています。Faux Strokeとオンブレシェーディングテクニックの組み合わせを気に入っています。私のクライアントの大半は以前に眉毛の施術をしたことがあり、修正が必要なベトナムの女性達です。コンボテクニックは、新しいクライアントにソフトで手入れが簡単な仕上がりを提供する柔軟性をもちながらも、時が経つにつれて赤や青に褪色した古い眉のタトゥーを修正することが可能です。
アートメイクにおいて、一番大切だと思うことは何ですか？
Phuong：アートメイクにおいて重要なことは、個人の顔の特徴に合わせつつ自然な見た目を保つことだと考えています。一つの形がすべてに適しているわけではないということです。アートメイクは、個人に合わせてカスタマイズされるべきです。
Phuongさんにとって、アートメイクとは？
Phuong：私の技術を通じて人々に幸せをもたらす喜びを感じています。私が創り出すそれぞれの仕事は芸術作品であり、仕事における全ての過程を心から楽しんでいます。
今後の展望をぜひ教えてください！
Phuong：現在私たちGlobal PMU teamは、アーティストのために高品質な製品の開発に取り組んでいます。さらに、将来のアーティストを対象にトレーニングを提供するためのPMUスクールの設立を進めています。私たちの目標は、日々継続的に学び、PMUの技術を進化させることです。
若手アーティストと日本人アーティストへのメッセージ
Phuong：最高の道具と指導を提供してくれるトレーナーを見つけるために、しっかりと調査をしましょう。私は、最初のトレーナーの質が大きな違いをもたらすと考えています。さらに、忍耐強く、粘り強く、たくさん練習しましょう。
そして、私は「勤勉さ」という日本文化をとても評価しています。継続的な練習と学ぶ意欲を持てば、この業界で望む成果をすぐに達成できると信じています。
Next in PMU：最初に習うトレーナーは、明らかにアーティストの未来を左右すると言っても過言ではないかもしれません。未来の自分のためにもしっかりとした調査が大事ですね。

Today we present Phuong Nguyen, who has produced thousands of PMU artists around the world. Please take a look at the last section of this article as she shares some important things to remember before you start learning about PMU!

Phuong Nguyen
With over 15 years of experience in the PMU industry, she has trained thousands of students worldwide who have become successful artists. Additionally, she is a speaker at various locations, including Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines, the USA, and Thailand, and is the creator of Faux Brows, Ice Lips, and Misty Liner.
Why did you decide to pursue this career?
Phuong：I grew up loving art and beauty. Before delving into PMU, I enjoyed doing makeup to enhance clients’ natural beauty. I started doing PMU afterward when I discovered the convenience and beauty of semi-permanent makeup, which saves time while still maintaining a natural look throughout the day.
What is a moment in your Permanent Makeup journey that was most memorable to you?
Phuong：In 2018, I participated in a PMU contest in the US. Within 15 minutes, one of the master artists who served as a judge in the competition informed me that I had passed even before I was able to finish my work. At that moment, I knew I had chosen the right career path. I was filled with joy because I felt that my hard work was being recognized by someone I had looked up to.
Areas of Expertise
Phuong：I believe that successfully achieving perfect PMU work involves creating results that enhance an individual’s natural beauty. I have always had a love for combo Faux Stroke with ombré shading technique. The majority of my clients are Vietnamese women who have previously had their brows done and require correction. Combo technique provides me with the flexibility to offer new clients a soft and low-maintenance result, while also being able to correct old brow tattoos that have faded to red or blue over the years.
What do you think is the most important aspect in Permanent Makeup? Why?
Phuong：I believe that the most important aspect of permanent makeup is ensuring that it suits the client’s facial features while maintaining a natural look. I don’t think PMU should be a one-shape-fits-all approach. It should be customizable for each individual.
What Does Permanent Makeup Mean to You?
Phuong：I find joy in being able to bring happiness to everyone through my craft. Each product I create is a work of art, and I thoroughly enjoy every step of the process.
Future Prospects of your career as a PMU artist and the PMU industry
Phuong：The Global PMU team and I are currently working on developing high-quality products for all artists. Additionally, we are in the process of establishing our PMU school to provide training for aspiring future artists. Our goal is to conduct ongoing research and continually evolve the art of PMU every day.
Message to Young Artists & Japanese PMU Artists
Phuong：Do your best research to find a trainer who can provide you with the best tools and guidance along the way. I believe the first quality trainer makes a big difference. Additionally, you need to be patient and persistent, dedicating a lot of time to practice.
I highly value the quality of hard work from Japanese culture. I believe that once you are persistent in your practice and have an eagerness to learn, you will soon achieve what you want in this industry.
Next in PMU：It may be no overstatement to say that the first trainer I learn from will obviously determine the future of the artist. It is important to do enough research for our future selves.
